Longer indexing delays reported for new domains
Across SEO communities, owners of newly-launched domains have reported longer-than-usual waits for first indexing in early May 2026.
What we're seeing
New domains with little trust and few discovery signals are sitting in “Discovered – currently not indexed” longer. Established sites appear largely unaffected.
What to do
Lean on active discovery: submit and ping your sitemap, build internal links, use the Indexing API / IndexNow, and earn a few authority links so Googlebot prioritises your URLs.
